Why Not Add The Bonsai Miniature Rose Tree To Your Collection?

By Lee Dobbins

Lots of Bonsai lovers are starting to focus on the great look of Bonsai miniature rose trees. People might think it takes a light touch to grow a miniature rose tree, but when these gorgeous trees are in full bloom, they are hardier than one might expect. Most Bonsai miniature roses are at least five inches tall and various species will be even taller. No matter how tall they grow, you will enjoy growing these special roses.

You will need to pay special attention to miniature roses if you want to grow them inside. They will most likely need more light than a sunny window will give them. Bonsai miniature roses will show if they are getting enough sunlight through the stems. More sun is needed if the stems look as though they are reaching out. You will be able to see wide spacing between the leaves.

As with many flowers, these roses require a great deal of moisture when theyre kept indoors. To provide humidity simply place the container of miniature roses in a bowl or a tray of pebbles and water. The small stones will keep the container above the water level which will prevent the soil from becoming soggy or waterlogged. When it slowly evaporates the water will provide the roses with extra humidity. However, if the house is really dry the owner can occasionally use a mist vaporizer.

Pests are likely to infect Bonsai miniature rose plants both indoors and outdoors. Whiteflies and spider mites commonly are drawn to indoor roses. By washing the tops and undersides of each leave, one can reduce the chances or even completely avoid damaging pests. To protect against whiteflies in particular, its best to use pest insecticide soap on the plants at least once a week. These products contain alcohol, which means that you must keep the Bonsai miniature roses out of light until the alcohol has completely dried.

In the event your roses are attacked and you have other plants, make sure to separate them to prevent the pests from going after them as well. Also, if the attack is severe enough you can cut a portion of the miniature roses back. It will re-grow and sometimes even take on a fuller appearance. Beautiful rose blooms can be achieved by using a fertilizer with a very high potassium content. You should mix the fertilizer with water to a strength and use it at least once every week.

Many individuals keep their Bonsai miniature rose plants indoors for a season and then set them outside. This is a good idea on occasion due to the pests that prey on them. However if they are placed outdoors without being removed from the containers they will quickly become dehydrated. Bonsai miniature roses can be planted into a garden as well.

The bonsai miniature rose is relatively new to the indoor plant category, but they're growing in popularity as people see how easy they are to grow and attend to with the return of a beautiful plant. The plant will undoubtedly add aesthetically pleasing quality to any room and give off an enjoyable fragrance.
