By Judith Allison

Our teenage years supply us with enough embarrassing moments and we don't need to add acne to the list. There are also those of us who are unfortunate enough to carrythis condition into adulthood. Due to the appearance of acne, skin blemishes and black spots, it is extremely unattractive and can create uncomfortable conditions. If not taken care of properly, the black spots will be a constant reminder of your unpleasant teenagers.

There are more products available in the market today than ever before. It seems as though every time we turn on our TVs another supermodel or beautiful actress is telling us about the product they use to keep their skin clean and fresh. As they talk about more and more products it becomes quite confusing as to what they actually are. In general, they come in six different categories:

-soaps

-moisturizers

-Masks and scrubs

-soaps

-cleansers

-toners

While all of the above products are tagged as acne treatments not all of them are suitable for acne affected skin. Some of them are merely cosmetic in nature and will not cure the actual infection. You will be able find all these products readily available on the Internet as well as storefronts. However, before purchasing any products you need to do your research and make an informed decision. Not doing so, can result in the purchase of products that could actually make your skin condition worse. Your best bet is to seek the advice of your doctor or pharmacist so you obtain the proper medicine.

As we stated above, acne can become quite embarrassing. The ugly blemishes can often be the target of finger-pointing and gossip.
