To Lose Love Handles, Fat Loss is Key

By John Winaby

Do you know why Love Handles are called Love Handles? They are called love handles as they provide a soft cushion like handle to hold on to when you place your arm around another person. And although the name may sound very sweet, they are not so good for you.

Although there may be many ways to target the elimination or reduction of the Love Handles, the primary objective should be to lose or burn off the excess calories, which requires an increase in activity. Making your life more active by exercising more frequently is the key to gaining control.

Nobody likes to count calories. I know I don't. And no one knows At the end of the day if the calories they consumed exceeded the Amount of calories they spent or if there were excessive calories stored as fat for later use. It is only over time that we can see the results of which way the battle is leaning. But what if, starting today, you made the decision to eat just a few bites less at each meal? Over time these things add up.

Technically, when I am asked if there is a Love Handles Exercise I say no. Then I explain that of course there are exercises that focus on the obliques, such as side bends, twists and a myriad of others, but let me be clear that Love Handles are Not the obliques. Love Handles are the accumulated fat that cover them. So if anyone wants to reduce or eliminate them they would be wise to focus on fat burning exercises

If you're just getting started it is imperative that you understand Just how important it is to be consistent with your routine. If you Decide to workout three days a week, than workout three days a week And don't let it slip. If something comes up that absolutely requires you to miss, perhaps you can replace that workout somewhere else in your schedule. And if that is not possible, don't beat yourself up, but I want to emphatically stress the importance of consistency.

How to lose body fat is not a complicated problem. When we eat more calories than our bodies burn, those calories are stored in our fat cells for later use. And those places around our middle have more than their fair share of them.

No matter how long it's been since you were in shape, or even if you've never been in shape in your life, you can succeed. As James Allen stated in his classic book "As a Man Thinketh", "The body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the orders of the mind whether they be deliberate or automatic."

Perhaps you could join a gym in your area, or take an aerobics class. Many people have been known to stay in shape just by walking briskly around the block. Any and all activity burns some calories.

If you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables throughout the day and consume a lot of water it will help the body in metabolizing the stored fat in the form of energy. This will help to reduce your cravings and will reduce your Love Handles too. A little control on your diet intake is a must. What you eat played a very important role in creating your Love Handles and will also play a role in losing them. Try not to eat too many carbohydrates, such as white pasta and white bread. Also try to increase your protein.

You must take control of your diet intake. That doesn't mean you can't have your favorite dessert. It just means that you need to apply more consciousness to your portion sizes when you make your choices. Watch the carbohydrates and try to increase your protein.

Although it may seem as if those Love Handles appeared almost overnight, they did not. And I can assure you that they will not disappear overnight either. Don't get discouraged. You can do this. You've had other successes in your life and the ones that are the most precious to you are probably the ones that were the most difficult to accomplish. This is no different.
