You will not find a training program out there that has better quality than Learn and Master Guitar. It comes with a book that has lessons printed on, but the big winner is that it has DVD lessons.
Nothing is ever perfect and the same goes for Learn and Master Guitar. The extreme quality of the program does come with a price. This scares people away a lot... but would you rather spend the money wisely on a program that will get you playing guitar quickly (Learn and Master Guitar), or would you rather spend your money on a program that will later make you wish you hadn't wasted it (almost every other program out there)?
