We know that everyone has their own little obsessions when it comes to scrapbooking. That's what keeps things so interesting. And the best pages happen when you keep it simple, stick to what you like and instinctively create! So when we list our Five "Must Have" items for scrapping we know they won't be the universal ingredients for a great page for every scapper. But we know just as positively that every scrapper has their own list of Five (or more) must haves and we think it would be great to share. We'll start! Here's ours!
Five Must Haves...According to the Glitz Girls are:
1. Journaling Cards so even when you're as journaling spazzy as we are you've got all the space you need in a package that is absolutely painless to use! We like to write on the journaling cards by hand, type/print, use them as backgrounds or mats or interesting layers within the layout, throw on embellishments and basically make them work for us in any way we can think of...and we've thought of a lot so far! The journaling cards remind us that scrapbooks are filled with memories that we want to remember and they offer us the perfect opportunity to jot down enough to remind us of it always. Because no matter how much we want to remember it all...our brain just can't hold onto EVERYTHING forever!
2. Frosting...sometimes called Bling is absolutely one of the most fun and usable items available. You can stretch it, loop it, criss cross it or break it. You can use it as an accent or flourish, add it to the page to create lines for journaling, use individual rhinestones from the frosting strip to create bullets for lists. You see where I'm headed with this? The possibilities are endless!
3. Paper. There is nothing more FUN than buying a TON of new paper. Having an obscene paper stash only leads to more possibilities when you're getting down and dirty on a new project. We love the Bazzill cardstock (their new bling cardstock is really fun to use).
4. Ink for distressing! We've got to have the classics of course: brown and black. But we're just as likely to be found inking with turquoise or pink, gold or green. Makes us feel like we're breaking the rules a bit and acting out like the wild and crazy girls we like to think we are! But be careful...it's addicting. Especially if you grab up the Glitz Graph Roller Doodle and give inking a try Roller Doodle style. Mmmmmm. You'll love it!
5. The Corner Rounder (Heavy Duty Corner Rounder if at all possible) is a fantastic staple. There are some of you out there saying this is a luxury, but you are absolutely mistaken! This features prominently in the middle of the desk during Glitz projects. A good corner rounder gets used constantly! Give it a shot and then tell me how often you have to go looking for it...most likely you won't have to because it will be right there in the middle of every project.
Check out the Glitz Blog at www.glitzitnow.blogspot.com and post a comment telling us what your five staples are for scrapping...we 'd hate to think you've discovered some obscure item that should be a basic necessity that we don't yet know about! Don't keep us in the dark any longer!
