I came to Fuerteventura almost three years ago now, and made it my home. I have to say, its the best thing that I have ever done. But the bad news is; I should have done it years ago.
I had a very good job in the UK, it paid well, and I loved it, but then all that ended, and I thought why not. I mentioned the "why not" to my girlfriend and within 5 weeks, we were here.
But that isn't my maijn reason for writing this. NO its because I love living here and I loved visiting here as a tourist, and you will too.
Caleta de Fuste is not the biggest of towns; its set in a horseshoe cove and is just south of the airport. It has beautiful man-made and (more importantly) child-friendly beaches, plenty of bars for the adults, as well as loads of restaurants. And if you are worried about what to do with the kids; everyone here is expecting you to bring your family, so all bars and restaurants welcome them. The Fuerteventuran's are very family orientated.
The main town is small and everywhere is within walking distance, but only if you fancy it; there are plenty of low priced and licensed cabs, and any journey around town will be less than 3.
The town is divided into four main areas; the White Centre, Chipmunk Mountain, Atlantico, and Downtown. All these areas are spread out, but as I said a cab is cheap and a walk is simple in the near year round sunshine.
Come and see us in Caleta de Fuste & Fuerteventura, its a place of sunshine, white beaches, relaxation, and fun.
But if that's not your thing, then what about our world famous water sports: surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, jet skis, scuba, snorkeling, boat hire and lots more.
Sincerely hope to see you there.
