Watching TV on Your PC

By Jeff Franklin

Now it's possible to get high quality cable TV directly to your computer via the Internet. If you have a high speed connection, and this software, you can get reliable television from over 4,000 different video streams. Think about that for a second while I tell you that I found out these incredible programs eliminate the monthly fee for these channels. How is that possible?

The satellite TV for PC software is sophisticated and unique and aggregates these channels into one streamlined place where all you do is dial up what to watch and the software displays the channel options. Make a selection and you're watching TV on your PC. Thousands of channels from hundreds of countries, of course I was skeptical. And without a monthly fee - I knew it couldn't be legal.

Cable TV on your computer is very legal because these channels have already been cleared for broadcast via the Internet. There is no hacking or illegal use of signals. The software is perfectly legal and free of any spyware or viruses. And by further investigation I found that the software comes in a few different options. Essentially, the higher priced option gives you the most channels. You can still get many, about 2,000 with the lower end unit. And I do know what I'm talking about.

My background is 15 years in radio and TV right in the big Dallas/Fort Worth market. With my own talk show I was sent so many gizmos in those years but none compare to this piece that I've used so many times for sports - soccer games from Brazil to matches of UK teams I would have missed locally. It's a great value, really.

This is getting to sound like a big commercial for this thing, and I don't want it to. Just an article to tell you that this is available and there are some keen comparison sites to help. For the price, it's a good value now. This software finds streaming TV video quickly and that's a time saver. But if you're thinking it's too complicated for you, think again.

I am not an expert when it comes to the PC. I call my buddy Dennis to do any installs, upgrades and the like. And even when a new item self-installs, he'll double check it. But this software, I installed myself and asked him to check. It was so easy I was feeling like I really knew what I was doing! But seriously, anyone can install this and you'll be watching TV in minutes. And one more item of interest.

If there is one thing I'd have to say about the software that allows you to watch some 4,000 channels on your PC, it would be that it is just simply convenient. As long as you have a high speed connection and this software, you're good to go. No TV cards or hardware - just the software and you can watch wherever you can take your PC and get a connection. This is so nice that I don't think it will be around long. They'll probably start making you pay a monthly fee to access.

And even if they do increase the price - and I'm sure it won't double - but if it did - it would be worth it. I just paid over $150 for a DVD player... and this is much less than that. I installed on my PC and notebook - which I suppose is OK. I can take that wherever they have wireless and watch TV. And that's pretty sweet.
