Dating Is All About Location, Location, Location

By Pam Baldwin

Now that you've gotten yourself a date, next you have to decide where you want to take your date for that ever important first date. No matter the place youave decided, you want to try and convey two things. First, you'll want to make sure that your date is comfortable. You want them to relax so that you can really get to know them without having the awkwardness that first dates can often have. Secondly, you want to ensure that the place you take your special someone is a place that shows you want to have fun. When deciding on location, location really is the keyword. You don't want to go somewhere too secluded that forces two people who don't know each other very well to make conversation. It should come naturally. On the other hand, it is important to stay out of locations that are overly crowded and impossible to find a quiet spot to get to know one another.

It can be somewhat scary if you have met your date on a dating site when meeting for the first time. This is definitely a time when comfort should be the number one concern. You and your date should truly be able to feel at ease. A possible solution for the comfort concern is to have the date during the day. If youare a man, it will help to ease your date's mind of possible disaster scenarios. If your a woman, it will help to put your own mind at ease. And as stated before, being relaxed and comfortable is key to a great first date.

A restaurant may come first into your mind when choosing a location, but donat let it be your only activity. A great date had many opportunities for the couple to connect in a range of ways. If weather permits, a great idea for a day or night time date would be to go play miniature golf or go to a local carnival in addition to your lunch or dinner. Since these activities are more active than eating, you will have more opportunities for different conversations, and an ability to make memories from your date.

If you take your take to a restaurant, make sure that itas not too desolate, but also make sure itas not overly crowded. Some great ideas on where to go on a first date would include casual dining so that both of you will be more at ease. Itas necessary to impress your date, but you donat want things to be too awkward. You will want things to remain light.

After your great dinner you've decided that the movies would be an excellent compliment to your date. Some key things to remember in picking a movie, is that it should be one that is neutral to both of you. Try not to go to a horror movie that is too gory, or an R-rated movie that is too sexually suggestive. Pick something with humor in it, so that it is light-hearted and leaves you both feeling happy and satisfied.

Another thing to consider is to make time for conversation on the first date. You may want to consider as part of the date going for a walk. This could be in a mall or outside in a park. If you go to a town or city, you can take a walk while going into shops and this will give you time to make conversation.

First dates can have a little romanticism in them, but be careful not to scare your date with any implications. Bringing your date flowers is a great romantic thing to do. However, inviting her to your apartment for dinner would not be a great idea on the first date.

Whether youare a man or a woman make sure to always make you date feel special. You should never talk about your past relationships on a first date. Donat go to a place that will bring up a lot of old memories of past relationships. Make sure itas a neutral place where you will only have that person on your mind. Most importantly, have a great time!
