All Natural Treatment For Beagle Allergies

By Michelle Adams

Of all the small breed dogs, beagles are by far one of the most popular. They are full of life and energy, and will provide their owners with many years of companionship. Unfortunately, puppy mills, often breeding several generations together without bringing in new blood, have carelessly bred most beagles. This has led to a great many beagle allergies that new beagle owners must contend with including allergies to fleas and mire which can cause extreme skin irritation.

Dealing with these beagle allergies requires a whole-health approach that many vets are reluctant to take, regardless of the irrefutable evidence that treating these dogs from the inside out can have wonderful effects on their health. This devil-may-care attitude that many vets have to a holistic approach means that a beagle owners needs take special care when choosing a vet for their special dog - one that will treat the whole dog, and not just the beagles allergies.

Beagle allergies to mites and fleas typically cause severe skin irritations, including areas of the skin that will dry out, crack, and weep. The most common treatment by vets is to simply treat the skin conditions with ointments, and other medication; and then to dip your dog in a medicated treatment on a regular basis. Unfortunately, this can have a devastating effect on your dog, as a beagle's immune systems can become weakened by these treatments.

The best way to treat beagle allergies is to provide them with a holistic diet and plenty of exercise. By increasing the blood circulation, you are promoting faster healing, and an all-over healthier constitution. By feeding your dog a holistic diet, chock full of vitamins and nutrients, you will be helping him or her to better fight off the diseases caused by mites and fleas.

Not only that, but by adding a bit of olive oil to your beagle's food, you can help to provide a protective barrier on their skin that mites and fleas will avoid.

When choosing a vet, it is important that you ask questions about whether he or she agrees with taking a whole-health approach to treating beagle allergies, or if they simply feel that treating the symptoms are enough.

It is important that you build up your dog's system as much as possible, if your vet does not believe in a holistic approach to health, as your dog's system could be weakened from having to fight off the effects of the drugs used.

You love your dog, and you want to treat your beagle's allergies as quickly as possible so that the two of you can begin enjoying life again. That is why it is so important that you take care when choosing a vet for your dog. If you want to ensure that you and your dog have a long and healthy life together, then you will realize the importance choosing a vet that is willing to treat the entire dog - and not just the symptoms.
